National Acoustic Laboratories
Since 1947, research conducted by the National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL) into hearing has opened new ways in which people with hearing loss can be helped. NAL is the research division of Australian Hearing, a Statutory Authority under the Commonwealth Department of Human Services.
NAL’s mission is to lead the world in research and development that improves the way hearing is assessed, hearing loss is prevented, and hearing loss is rehabilitated. The vast majority of our work is in the public good using funding from the Australian Government. Research findings are published in leading peer-reviewed journals and are available to clinicians and other users of the research.
As a core member of the Hearing Co-operative Research Centre, NAL welcomes the opportunity created in the Australian Hearing Hub of being in close proximity with other members, further enhancing our collaborative activities.
