Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children (RIDBC) is Australia’s largest non-government provider of education, therapy and Cochlear implant services for children and adults with vision or hearing loss, their families, and the professionals who support them.
These services are delivered by a broad group of highly qualified professionals including: teachers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, audiologists, orthoptists, psychologists, social workers, technology consultants, physiotherapists, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgeons, and a range of specialist consultants.
Over 6000 people with vision and/or hearing loss are benefiting from RIDBC’s broad range of tailored services each year. As well, RIDBC provides vision and hearing screening to almost 3000 babies and children, and performs over 400 cochlear implant surgeries for both children and adults each year.
