Australian Newborn Hearing Screening Showcase Program

Project summary

Australia’s leadership in newborn hearing screening remains globally renowned. This program will showcase the Australian Hearing Hub’s collaborative successes in research, innovation, education and practice,  delivering improved community health indicators and creating positive change from the start.

The Australian Newborn Hearing Screening Showcase program is supported by the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations. Macquarie University, together with the Australian Hearing Hub, was announced as a grant recipient of the Foundation’s 2022-23 grants round to deliver the program in June 2023 by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Hon Penny Wong.

The Foundation is pleased to support this initiative, which improves early detection and effective management of hearing loss in newborns, through collaboration between Australian and Chinese researchers.
