NAL researchers were recognised at the recent World Congress of Audiology held in Vancouver.
NAL Director A/Prof Harvey Dillon was awarded the prestigious Aram Glorig Award ‘for lifelong dedication to Audiology and in recognition of his achievements for the science and practice of Audiology’. Dr Dillon accepted the award acknowledging all the people he had worked with who make his work possible, and delivered the Aram Glorig Lecture on the topic ‘Listening in Noise’.
NAL Audiologist and Macquarie University PhD candidate Ingrid Yeend was awarded ‘Best poster by a PhD student’ for the poster entitled ‘Delving into ‘hidden hearing loss’: Results from a large-scale behavioural investigation’.
PhD candidate at NAL and Macquarie University Baljeet Rana was awarded the International Society of Audiology (ISA) student scholarship for conducting cutting edge research to further the development of audiological science and for presenting a paper titled ‘Artificially enhancing better-ear glimpsing cues: effect of frequency region and sensation level’.
