A huge congratulations to Dr Ping Tang, who has graduated with his PhD and was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s commendation for academic excellence! His supervisors Katherine Demuth, Nan Xu Rattanasone and Ivan Yuen are very proud of his achievement!
Ping will be took up a teaching position at Nanjing University of Science and Technology at the start of May and was in China at the start of March, testing more children with hearing loss who were implanted with cochlear implants before the age of 2.
This research has been funded by the Dr Li Sze Lim mobility scholarship for the project (with Dr Nan Xu Rattanasone) ‘Improving Child Hearing Health in China: Assessing Tone Acquisition by Children with Cochlear Implants’, a scholarship made possible through a major donation by Dr Li Sze Lim who is a keen supporter of student and academic research mobility between China, Hong Kong and Australia.
You can read more about Nan and Ping’s project in Macquarie University’s Lighthouse news.
