To celebrate Hearing Awareness Week and World Hearing Day, the Australian Hearing Hub hosted a showcase on 3 March 2022.
The event brought together more than 120 researchers, clinicians, educators, innovators, and students from the AHH community to connect, engage and be inspired by our world leading community.
The showcase provided each AHH member organisation (Hearing Australia, National Acoustic Laboratories, The Shepherd Centre, NextSense, Macquarie University Hearing, and Cochlear Limited) with an opportunity to highlight some of their current work and their future aspirations to transform hearing and communication.
Presentations topics included, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Hearing Health, the Phonak-Macquarie-NAL Alliance, the Macquarie University and Cochlear partnership, Hearing Australia’s Dementia Guidelines, Developing a digital platform to support professionals working with children with hearing loss, Beyond Speech: Language processing in children with hearing loss, an update on the NextSense head office relocating to Macquarie University, and Emerging trends in hearing healthcare.
Academic Director of Macquarie University Hearing, Professor David McAlpine, said it was inspiring to see the breadth of research being carried out by the AHH community.
