Sue Walters, the first person in NSW to receive a Cochlear Implant and a member of NextSense clinical support team.
NextSense highlights the great work Sue does with CICADA – the Cochlear Implant Club and Advisory Association – and the importance of having a community of support when experiencing hearing loss as an adult.
Through NextSense social media channels they shared the positive message that help is out there, hearing loss can be managed, and good outcomes are possible. They reinforced that hearing loss doesn’t have to lead to social isolation, poor mental health, and cognitive decline—and the earlier people access the right support the better their outcomes will be.
