The Shepherd Centre recently finished its music therapy program, MusicConnect, and is delighted that parents and children enjoyed the chance to connect and have fun through music.
The program encourages positive parent-child interaction through singing, dancing and playing musical instruments and was delivered in partnership with start-up MusicConnect.
Over eight weeks highly trained and experienced music therapy specialists lead parents and children through a range of musical activities, including singing nursery rhymes, dancing to popular kid’s songs and playing a range of musical instruments such as rattles, tambourines and toy drums.
These activities enabled parents to connect with their child through meaningful play and helped children develop their language, communication, motor skills and social interaction.
