This video highlights research conducted in the area of Language Acquisition at Macquarie University.
Language Acquisition researchers at Macquarie University are primarily associated with the Language Acquisition Lab and the Child Language Lab based in the Departments of Linguistics and Cognitive Science, and are closely associated with the Language Program of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders (CCD) .
Researchers in the CCD Language Program investigate language development in typically developing children and language processing in adults, and study children and adults with language disorders, such as specific language impairment and aphasia. Research findings from the CCD Language Program inform our understanding of language at a theoretical level, and also provide the basis for more effective diagnosis and treatment of language impairment.
