On Tuesday 4 June 2019, Macquarie University Hearing, Department of Computing and the Australian Hearing Hub held a ‘Big Hearing Data Workshop’.
The workshop was attended by 30 experts from the Department of Computing, Faculty of Human Sciences and representatives from many of the Australian Hearing Hub organisations, including Australian Hearing, National Acoustic Laboratories, The Shepherd Centre and Cochlear Limited.
The aim of this workshop was to promote university-wide engagement to generate project ideas and partnerships. In the workshop the attendees explored ideas around what existing hearing data sets are available that can be utilized to extract a rich source of information to address impactful questions. The attendees also developed a wish list of what new data sets they would like to have to be able to ask research questions.
