NAL team awarded two grants

Viji Easwar has been awarded over one million dollars from a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Investigator Grant. The Investigator Grant is a fellowship awarded to the applicant to advance their research program over five years. Viji is one of the 40 successful applicants nationwide at the emerging leadership level and the only one in hearing science. Viji will lead the research program on neuromarkers of intervention success in children with hearing loss. Her research program will progress the use of neural measures and markers to optimise listening experience in infants and young children through hearing aids fitted as early as the first few months of life.

 

Xiaoyin Shang has been awarded a grant from the inaugural National Industry PhD Program from the Department of Education. She will be developing managerial processes and guidelines that support robust healthcare innovation ecosystems and augment research and development investment efficiency. This toolkit is set to become an invaluable resource for research organisations strategizing innovation initiatives, science innovators collaborating with industry partners, and internal organisational innovators.
